Buster Neal McGinty July 31, 1939 ~ July 23, 2012
Buster Neal McGinty, 72, of Granite Shoals, passed  away July 23. He was born to Shade and Tommie (Rogers) McGinty on July 31, 1939 in Snyder.
Mr. McGinty proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, serving two tours of duty. He was awarded two Purple Hearts and one Bronze Star. Following his retirement he was employed with the Colorado River Authority and retired there also. He was a member of the V.F.W. and in his spare time enjoyed fishing and Dominos. He was proud to be an honest man.
He is survived by his wife, Mary McGinty of Granite Shoals; children, Wesley McGinty of Midland, Janet and Kenneth Upham of Granite Shoals, Robert McGinty of San Antonio, Richard McGinty of Granite Shoals, Rodger McGinty and Jim McGinty of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary June Ashley of Kingsland; nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation is at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave., Kingsland with funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, the Rev. Richard Vandeventer and the Highland Lakes Honor Guard officiating. Burial will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26. An online guest register may be signed at
